Who we are, our brief history and our Grand plan!
MotelGita.org is the official website of the Pancajanya Project, a new but quickly growing organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the glories to Lord Krishna and His teachiings by placing copies of the Bhagavad Gita As It Is, by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in motel and hotel rooms across North America. The Pancajanya Project operates as an arm of ISKCON of Silicon Valley ('ISV'), a non-profit religious corporation which also manages ISKCON's Radha-Krishna temple in San Jose, California, and conducts 'Sankirtan' activities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Under the guidance of His Grace Vaisesika Dasa Adhikari, President of ISV, the Pancajanya Project reached out to motel and hotel owners and requests them to stock their guest rooms with soft-bound copies of Bhagavad Gita As It Is, the best-selling Englis edition of Bhagavad-gita. Just as the Gideons place Holy Bibles in motel and hotel rooms throughout the world, the Pancajanya Project would like to introduce Srimad Bhagavad-Gita in as many rooms as possible, to provide inspiration and education to travelers and other guests. Spoken by Lord Krishna Himself, the eternal message of Bhagavad-Gita is all auspicious and has the power to enlighten everyone and brings about Peace, Prosperity, Victory and Justice wherever it goes.
Dilip Patel, Manager of the Sea Breeze Motel in Pacifica, California, and Milan Doshi, are both leading members of the ISV congregation. They started the Pancajanya Project in April of 2008, by contacting motel and hotel owners primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area and asking them to place soft-bound copies of the Bhagavad-Gitas in their rooms. Those who did so soon reported how their guests are enjoying the Bhagavad-Gitas and how they are feeling happy and purified by performing this simple service. The response from Owners and Guests has been so overwhelming that we decided to expand the project throughout the United States as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to ISV in California, Rohini-Nandana Dasa, a devotee at ISKCON's temple in Boston Massachusetts, had already been placing Bhagavad-Gitas in motel rooms in the U.S. Eastern Seaboard. The fact that Krishna has inspired Devotees on Opposite coasts to engage in this same task confirmed to us His desire that we carry out this important work. East and West coast devotees have now joined forces under the auspices of ISV to form the Pancajanya Project.
It is out intention to recruit members from every part of the United States and to eventually place Bhagavad-Gitas in over 1 Million Guest rooms in North America.
If you are a Motel owner you can help us in many ways. If you are not a Motel owner you can still get involved.
