Welcome to The Wholesome Healing Initiative

’Gita for Wholesome Healing’ is a service project from the Bhakti Yoga and Meditation Center. This project is designed to assist you in caring for your patients and staff in a highly personable manner. We provide literature on stress management that are based on metaphysical science free of cost to hospitals and other medical facilities in the US and Canada. Eastern philosophy offers metaphysical science primarily through the Bhagavad Gita. Bhagavad Gita is generally known as a sacred Hindu text and has made its place in sacred spaces and chapels in many hospitals. But the metaphysical science presented in this book has intrigued and enthralled many thoughtful personalities like Albert Einstein, Emerson, Thoreau, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi and many other great thinkers of the world.

What does ‘Gita for Wholesome Healing’ offer?
* Information for wholesome healing of the individuals under your care.
* To become familiar with non-sectarian spirituality that is embraced by millions of people all over the world.
* To provide answers for inquisitive minds and to visit the profound depths that a human intellect can fathom, regardless of one’s faith or religion.

Mantra Meditation:

The Bhagavad Gita talks about wholesome healing based on metaphysical science, which is very important to prevent recurrence of diseases at all levels. Research has strongly shown that metaphysical science combined with mantra meditation, can help give us a better quality of life, increase longevity, and decrease our vulnerability to most of the physical and psychological illnesses. This phenomenon is possible through a mechanism called neuroplasticity: where the mind-body interaction can change the physiology and anatomy of the brain. After studying the Bhagavad Gita's 5000+ year old Sanskrit verses and English translations, also describes three essential skills that a physician must possess: excellent knowledge, equanimity, and emotional attributes. Three good behaviors are also listed (Pro-work ethics, Patient-centered care, and Preceptive leadership) and are described further in the book, hence making it an important read for doctors and medical staff.

Moreover, the Bhagavad Gita emphasizes "Mantra Meditation" as a core practice for people of modern times, which is not only widely practiced by over 50 million people worldwide, but is also highly vetted by scientific research. The Annual Review of Nursing Research (2014), suggests that “Mantra repetition is a simple, quick, portable and private complementary practice that may be used as an adjunct to current treatments for PTSD.” In the Corsini Encyclopedia of Psychology and Behavioral Science, mantra identified research proved the physiological benefits of mantra repetition: “lowered levels of tension; slower heart rate, decreased blood pressure, lower oxygen consumption, and increased alpha wave production. The benefits experienced in 20 minutes of meditation exceed those of deep sleep, thus indicating the regenerative power of meditation and saving of wear and tear on the body.” Similar studies have shown the benefit of Mantra Meditation for psychological distress and anxiety, sleep and mood, Alzheimer's, cognitive performance, schizophrenia, stress and other chronic illnesses like diabetes.
